Do you ever get into such a great mood that makes you feel like you can conquer the world!? I literally want to go and crush all of my goals right now even though its 7pm on a Saturday night. Today I was thinking about what it takes to be a good leader. Being a good leader is HARD trust me. Being a leader of something is the most rewarding thing ever, but can also make you feel like such a failure at times. It was a hard pill for me to swallow, but you can never please everybody. Somebody will always be upset over a decision that was made, even when the other people in the room agree completely. No matter how hard you try or how much work you put in, it will never go completely noticed. THAT’S OK!!! It took me a long time to learn that, but it is okay not to get recognition for all the work you are doing. As long as you know that you are doing your absolute best then that is all that should matter.
Other peoples opinions can get in the way of so much. It can ruin how you feel about yourself, how you feel about your accomplishments/dreams, and how you live your life. Stop that. Stop caring so much about what other people think. It’s you who is living your own life, not them. If you want to wear a sparkly head band DO IT. If you want to go out and dance all night DO IT. This year I am really working on how other people effect me. I will not let somebody else’s opinions tear me down or affect how I live my life. All that matters is how I feel about myself. If I am proud of who I am becoming and the actions that I am taking, then what anybody else says should not matter.
I used to be such a people please-r. I would tell them what they want to hear and do what they would want me to do. It was hard for me to say no. It is safe to say that I am not that person anymore. If you want my opinion, then I will tell you the cold hard truth. If I don’t want to do something then I have no problem saying no. Being a people please-r gets you nowhere. It doesn’t make anybody like you more, or get you farther in life. I found that being honest with people and my friends was more beneficial then telling them what they wanted to hear. If you want a friend who will agree with your every decision even if it is extremely stupid then I am not your girl. Saying no to things you do not want to do is freeing. People seem to respect me more and I feel like a stronger person from that.
Long story short, stop letting other people dictate your life. Especially people who do not effect your life in a positive way. Living your life by your own rules and in your own way will allow you to be genuinely happy and free, which is exactly how life should be lived.
